Our Statement Of Faith

THE SCRIPTURES: We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority in faith and life. We further believe that God has preserved His word complete and without error. 1 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 1:1-2; Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 119:11; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 12:6-7; Matthew 24:35

 

THE TRINITY: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:6; Matthew 3:16-17;  2 Corinthians 13:14;  1 Peter 1:2

 

JESUS CHRIST: We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His true humanity. His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His present intercession and sole mediatorship, and His personal and visible return in power and glory. HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, who is our Comforter, and in His ministry of revealing Christ, convicting of sin, regenerating, sanctifying and empowering for service. 1 Corinthians 2:9-12; John 16:7-8; John 16:13-14; Romans 8:2; Romans 8:10-14; Acts 1:8

 

MAN: We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby death passed upon all, and that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3

 

SALVATION: We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation is the free gift of God, neither merited not secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man, but is received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, in whom all true believers have as a present possession the gift of eternal life, forgiveness of sin, sonship in the family. of God, deliverance and security from all condemnation, every spiritual resource needed for life and godliness, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish; and that apart from Christ there is no salvation. THE CHURCH: We believe that the Church is a spiritual organism, the body of Christ, composed of all regenerated individuals, and that the local church is a body of baptized believers associated for worship, fellowship, service, and the spread of the Gospel. Colossians 1:18; Matthew 16:16-18; Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 12:23; Hebrews 10:25; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 8:14

 

ORDINANCES: We believe that baptism is the immersion of the believer in water, portraying death to sin and resurrection to newness of life, and that the Lord’s supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until he comes. Matthew 3:13-17; Romans 6:4; Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30

 

THE COMMISSION: We believe it is the responsibility of all believers to make known the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all mankind. Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Romans 10:13-15; Ezekiel 3:18-19; John 15:16

 

SEPARATION: We believe that all who are saved are called into a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices and alliances. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; 1 John 2:15-16

 

FUTURE EVENTS: We believe in the imminent return of Christ to the air to receive His bride, the Church into heaven (rapture). Following this, the earth will experience a 7 year period known as the Tribulation during which God will pour out his wrath upon the world. After this 7 year period, Christ will return with His church to set up his millennial (1000 year) kingdom. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17;  1 Thessalonians 5:9; Titus 2:13-14; Luke 21:35-36; John 14:2-3; Acts 1:11; Revelation 5:13; Revelation 2:27

 

FUTURE STATE: We believe in the resurrection of the saved to everlasting conscious blessedness with Christ in heaven and in the resurrection of the lost to everlasting conscious punishment in the lake of fire. John 5:28-29; Matthew 25:41; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24;  1 Corinthians 15:51-54;  Revelation 21:4-8; Revelation 20:14-15
